Build things that still matter in thirty years.

Retrospx is hiring across development, engineering, software, permitting, and operations. We want operators who like difficult problems, durable answers, and work whose outputs physically exist.

Culture

A fast-moving infrastructure platform. A small team. Real authority over real work.

Retrospx is not a startup. We're a rapidly scaling, operator-led infrastructure company building real physical assets in real geographies — with all the rigor, documentation, and patience that requires. But we work at founder-team speed, with the direct decision-making that only comes from a small, trusted, highly-capable operating group.

The trade-off we offer is simple: expect to own your work end-to-end, expect to see it built, and expect to work with people who also care about doing it well. If that sounds right, we want to talk.

Ownership.

You will own the outcome of your work — not a swim-lane within someone else's outcome.

Velocity.

Decisions move quickly when the evidence is there. We do not confuse motion with progress.

Rigor.

Infrastructure is unforgiving of sloppy work. We document, we verify, and we underwrite honestly.

Durability.

We build for multi-decade holds. You will see your work outlive quarterly cycles.

Why Work at Retrospx

We're at an unusual inflection — big enough to matter, small enough that your work does.

Real scope.

You'll work directly on multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects from the beginning — not three years in once someone has "earned it." If you can deliver, there is no ceiling on what you'll touch.

Cross-functional exposure.

Retrospx operates across four verticals. You'll work alongside engineers, permitting professionals, finance, construction, and software — and you'll learn the entire infrastructure stack in the process.

Long-horizon thinking.

Nothing we build is meant to be sold next quarter. That changes how we make decisions, how we treat partners, and how we design the work — and it changes what's rewarding about working here.

Open Roles

Current positions.

Each role below is a hire we're actively making. If nothing fits exactly but you believe you should be at Retrospx, reach out anyway — we'd rather meet the right person early than miss them.

Lead Web Developer

Full-TimeRemote / HoustonEngineering

Overview. Lead the architecture, development, and evolution of Retrospx's digital surface — our public site, partner portals, internal tooling, and the application layer that will eventually tie our operating data into a coherent platform.

Responsibilities. Own the front-end and back-end architecture of Retrospx's web properties; lead the build-out of internal tools used by the development, permitting, and operations teams; establish the engineering standards — code review, testing, deployment, observability — that will scale as the team grows; partner with leadership on the product roadmap.

Ideal candidate. 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience; comfortable with modern React/Next.js, TypeScript, and cloud infrastructure; prior experience leading small high-performing teams; strong opinions on shipping velocity vs. technical debt, and the judgment to balance them.

Why join. You'll define the digital architecture of an infrastructure company that is about to need serious software. The scope to shape that layer will not exist again.

AI / LLM Model Engineers

Full-Time · MultipleRemote / HoustonAI Engineering

Overview. Build the applied AI layer that will sit on top of Retrospx's operating data — from site-selection intelligence and permitting-workflow automation to carrier and utility interaction tools that compress weeks of work into hours.

Responsibilities. Design and ship LLM-powered tooling across site analysis, document extraction (permits, titles, utility filings), operational workflow automation, and internal knowledge systems; integrate large model APIs and open-weight models where appropriate; own the evaluation and reliability layer for production AI features.

Ideal candidate. Deep, hands-on experience with modern LLM frameworks and production AI deployment; strong software engineering fundamentals; comfortable with retrieval architectures, evals, fine-tuning, and cost/latency trade-offs; a practical builder, not just a researcher.

Why join. Infrastructure is one of the last major industries where thoughtful applied AI still has enormous green-field value to unlock. You'll be building tools that materially change how real projects get delivered.

Permitting Processor

Full-TimeHoustonDevelopment

Overview. Own the end-to-end processing of permit applications, entitlement filings, and regulatory submissions across Retrospx's active development pipeline — the operational spine of how Retrospx actually gets projects built.

Responsibilities. Prepare and submit zoning, conditional use, building, electrical, and environmental permit applications; manage correspondence with city, county, state, and federal agencies (including FAA and SHPO as applicable); track filing status, address deficiency letters, and coordinate with design consultants and outside counsel; maintain the internal permitting tracker that gives leadership real-time visibility into pipeline status.

Ideal candidate. 3+ years in permitting, entitlement, or construction administration — ideally in telecom, data center, or commercial real estate contexts; exceptional attention to detail; familiarity with permitting portals, jurisdictional review processes, and agency correspondence practices; proactive communicator.

Why join. Permitting is the discipline that separates buildable from paper pipeline. At Retrospx, that work is a respected, visible, and meaningfully-compensated function — not a back-office line item.

Architects

Full-Time · MultipleHouston / RemoteDesign

Overview. Design tower compounds, data center facilities, and ancillary infrastructure to standards that meet carrier, hyperscaler, utility, and municipal requirements — while advancing Retrospx's commitment to structurally durable, operationally efficient, and visually responsible built work.

Responsibilities. Lead architectural design for monopole compound layouts, small to mid-sized data center facilities, and associated support structures; coordinate with structural, electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering disciplines; prepare design documentation suitable for permitting and competitive bidding; interface with jurisdictions on design review and zoning matters.

Ideal candidate. Licensed architect with significant commercial, industrial, or infrastructure project experience; fluency with code analysis across multiple jurisdictions; strong coordination instincts with MEP and structural teams; appreciation for practical, buildable design over award-chasing geometry.

Why join. Infrastructure design is where your work gets built, energized, used for decades, and walked past every day by people who depend on it. That is what architecture is for.

Supply Chain Manager

Full-TimeHoustonOperations

Overview. Own Retrospx's supply chain — from steel and electrical gear to the long-lead items whose availability determines whether projects hit their schedule. In the current market, this role is not a clerical function. It is a strategic lever.

Responsibilities. Develop and maintain vendor relationships across monopole fabrication, electrical equipment, cabling, mechanical systems, and specialty data center components; forecast material needs against the development pipeline; negotiate framework agreements and long-lead position on critical items; coordinate with construction partners on delivery sequencing.

Ideal candidate. 5+ years in infrastructure, construction, or industrial supply chain; strong commercial instincts on vendor negotiations; comfortable with ERP tooling and spend analytics; proven ability to unblock projects whose schedules depend on hard-to-get gear.

Why join. In a market where transformers are booked out two years and GPUs are allocated quarters ahead, supply chain is where a good company becomes a great one. You'll operate with real authority over real outcomes.

The Growth Story

You're joining a company that is measurably larger every year.

Retrospx grew from 1 tower in 2020 to 19 in 2021, to nearly 60 in 2023, to 95+ today. Three offices. Four verticals. Active pipeline across all of them. Joining now means joining before the next inflection — and shaping how that inflection actually unfolds.
